Jiangsu Aogu Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

In the functional sugars segment, the core products include trehalose, maltose, isomaltulose, polydextrose, cyclodextrins, and complex starch sugars. Notably, the company holds the world’s largest production capacity for trehalose, with the 200,000-ton trehalose production line at Heilongjiang Xianggu successfully commissioned in 2025. The company is also the only domestic producer capable of manufacturing maltose powder with a purity exceeding 90%, and as the largest β-cyclodextrin producer in China, its products enjoy exceptionally high market recognition.

Amino acid products include L-phenylalanine, γ-aminobutyric acid, L-2-aminobutyric acid, valine, arginine, and others, all manufactured with dedicated expertise by Jilin Jia’ao. Benefiting from their high purity and exceptional stability, these products are widely used in the pharmaceutical and dietary supplement industries.

In the nucleotide and bioactive substances sector, the company is one of China’s largest NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) producers, with an annual output capacity of 300 metric tons following a production-capacity upgrade. In addition, the company manufactures bioenzyme preparations, inositol, α-cyclodextrin, sodium/calcium gluconate, and other products. Its enzyme preparations are developed and produced in-house, while its inositol and α-cyclodextrin have obtained multiple international certifications and are successfully applied in feed, cosmetics, and other industries.

Technology Research and Development and Qualification Certification

Technical Team

The company regards technological innovation as its core competitive advantage and has established a technology system centered on bioenzyme technology as its core platform and synthetic biology as its development direction. It has independently mastered key technologies such as biofermentation process optimization, high-value utilization of by-products, and bioenzyme engineering. The R&D team is highly capable, with core members hailing from prestigious institutions such as Tsinghua University and Jiangnan University; the team comprises more than 50 R&D personnel, providing robust support for technological breakthroughs.

Intellectual Property

The company boasts a robust intellectual property portfolio, with a total of 175 patents (including 10 invention patents), as well as 15 trademarks and 1 copyright. It has successfully broken international technology monopolies in core products such as trehalose and cyclodextrins. In addition, the company actively engages in industry–university–research collaboration, jointly establishing talent-development centers with Jiangnan University and Jiangsu University. Focusing on more than 20 R&D projects—including γ-cyclodextrin, resistant dextrin, and novel candied fruits—the company continuously drives technological iteration and upgrading.

Qualification Certification

The company has a comprehensive certification system: domestically, it has obtained numerous certifications, including ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 22000 (food safety), HACCP, FSSC 22000, FAMI-QS (feed safety), and GMP (pharmaceutical excipients); internationally, it has secured HALAL and KOSHER certifications, ensuring compliance for product exports. In September 2025, the company completed the filing for “solely selling pre-packaged food” and simultaneously holds licenses for the production and sale of feed additives, food products, and pharmaceutical excipients, enabling compliant and orderly business operations.

Market Collaboration and Application Areas

Leveraging high-quality products and services, the company has established a stable collaborative ecosystem, with strategic clients including renowned enterprises such as Cargill in the United States and Xiangyu Group, with whom it has forged long-term strategic partnerships. At the same time, the company has deepened its presence in niche segments, cultivating close partnerships with industry-leading customers like Liuliu Orchard, Three Squirrels, and Mimosa, thereby earning a strong market reputation. In addition, the company continues to strengthen university–enterprise collaboration, engaging in in-depth cooperation with Jiangnan University and Jiangsu University on talent development and technological R&D, thus achieving synergistic development among industry, academia, and research.

In the food and beverage sector, products such as trehalose and isomaltulose are widely used as low- or no-sugar alternatives in baked goods, meat products, confectionery, frozen foods, and beverages. NMN and glutathione are employed as pharmaceutical and nutritional supplements, while β-cyclodextrin serves as a pharmaceutical excipient, thereby supporting the development of the pharmaceutical and health industries. In the animal nutrition field, ingredients like inositol, gamma-aminobutyric acid, and feed-grade amino acids are utilized as feed additives that effectively enhance animal health and growth performance, earning widespread recognition within the livestock industry.
