Currently, the company has established and put into operation production capacities of 10,000 tonnes for bioenzyme preparations, 5,000 tonnes for isomaltulose, and 10,000 tonnes for β-cyclodextrin.

 

Product Characteristics and Applications of Cyclodextrins

Characteristics

① It exhibits good thermal stability, beginning to decompose upon heating to approximately 200°C; it is highly stable in alkaline media but readily undergoes cleavage in strong acidic media.

② It exhibits no reducibility; it has neither a reducing end nor a non-reducing end.

③ It is non-hygroscopic and readily forms various stable hydrates.

④ Good crystallinity, enabling excellent crystallization in alcoholic and aqueous solutions.

⑤ Hydrophobic cavities can encapsulate various organic compounds to form inclusion complexes, thereby altering the physical and chemical properties of the encapsulated guest molecules; furthermore, numerous functional groups can be grafted onto cyclodextrin molecules or cyclodextrins can be cross-linked with polymers for chemical modification, or cyclodextrins can be used as monomers for polymerization.

Application

Owing to its unique cylindrical structure, β-cyclodextrin can form host–guest inclusion complexes with numerous inorganic and organic molecules, thereby altering the chemical and physical properties of the guest molecules. It exhibits protective, stabilizing, solubilizing, and selectively orienting effects on guest molecules, making it widely applicable in fields such as food, pharmaceuticals, daily chemicals, cosmetics, polymer synthesis, analytical chemistry, environmental protection, and agriculture. Examples include tea powder, veterinary drugs, finished pharmaceutical preparations, and disposable diapers.
