L-Valine

L-valine (VA) is an essential amino acid (EAA) and, together with leucine (LEU) and isoleucine (LLE), constitutes the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). BCAAs play a crucial role in protein synthesis and energy metabolism in animals. As the crude protein level in livestock and poultry diets continues to decline, L-valine has emerged as the fifth limiting amino acid (LAA), following lysine, threonine, methionine, and tryptophan.

Product Introduction

L-valine (VA) is an essential amino acid (EAA) and, together with leucine (LEU) and isoleucine (LLE), constitutes the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). BCAAs play a crucial role in protein synthesis and energy metabolism in animals. As the crude protein level in livestock and poultry diets continues to decline, L-valine has emerged as the fifth limiting amino acid (LAA), following lysine, threonine, methionine, and tryptophan.

In addition to its role in protein synthesis, L-valine is also crucial for animal growth and reproduction. During specific physiological periods, L-valine can be oxidized to provide energy, regulate protein turnover in skeletal muscle, enhance lactation performance in sows, and strengthen the immune function of pigs. For pregnant and lactating sows, increasing dietary L-valine intake can markedly improve piglet growth performance, increase milk yield, and reduce postpartum weight loss. Furthermore, when incorporated into low-protein diets for broilers, L-valine can significantly improve feed conversion efficiency and body weight gain, reduce abdominal fat deposition, and enhance meat quality.
