Fujin Secures Another Major Project, Signing for RMB 2 Billion in Investment

On December 2, our city held the signing ceremony for the Fujin 500,000-ton trehalose and 500,000-ton compound sugar industrial park project of Jiangsu OGO Biotechnology Co., Ltd. This marks another major initiative by our city to expand along the “industrial chain,” strengthen “cluster-based” development, and vigorously promote the upgrading of the agricultural industry. Liang Qingmin, Vice Chairman of the Jiamusi Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Secretary of the Fujin Municipal Party Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Hao Wang, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, presided over the signing ceremony, which was also attended by Han Tianjia, a municipal leader, and heads of relevant departments.

He stated that the successful signing of the Jiangsu OGO Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Fujin 500,000-ton trehalose and 500,000-ton blended sugar industrial park project will further promote the extension, supplementation, and strengthening of our city’s corn industry chain, accelerate the cluster development of the bioeconomy, and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of the county-level economy. The Fujin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government will continue to extend their enthusiastic commitment to investment promotion throughout the entire process—from project commencement and construction to operation—and, as always, uphold the principles of valuing, being friendly toward, enriching, and ensuring the security of businesses. Zhu Weimin, Chairman of Jiangsu OGO Biotechnology Co., Ltd., gave a detailed introduction on the company’s development plan, industrial positioning, and project prospects.
Wu Jie, a member of the Party Committee of Xiangyu Group and Assistant to the President, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xiangyu Heilongjiang Regional Office, and Chairman of Heilongjiang Jinxiang Biochemical Co., Ltd., expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Fujin Municipal Party Committee and the Fujin Municipal Government for their strong support over the years for Xiangyu’s investment and business development in Fujin. He stated that the company will do its utmost to support the OGO trehalose project, fully leveraging the resource advantages of Xiangyu Biochemical and even the entire Xiangyu Group to provide comprehensive resource guarantees—including raw materials, energy, and logistics—for the OGO trehalose project. Through this collaboration between two industry leaders based on mutual benefit, the company aims to help the project achieve its objectives on schedule.
Leading officials from the Bureau of Commerce, the Development and Reform Commission, the Business Environment Bureau, and other relevant departments delivered remarks on how to make all-out efforts to ensure comprehensive support services, thereby accelerating the commencement of project construction and enabling projects to enter production and achieve desired results at the earliest possible date.
Subsequently, representatives from the government, enterprises, and other stakeholders signed the project cooperation agreement in the presence of all attendees.
According to reports, the 500,000-ton annual production project of trehalose and compound sugar at the Fujin Industrial Park of Jiangsu OGO Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is planned to have a total investment of RMB 2 billion. The first phase will involve the construction of a 240,000-ton trehalose and compound sugar project, which is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2024. Once the entire project is completed and put into operation, the annual output value could exceed RMB 10 billion, creating 600 to 800 jobs.
